What Is EBT ?

The Georgia EBT Farmers Market Program
allows SNAP customers to use their EBT card
at local farmers markets.
This project provides assistance,
training and new equipment necessary to
implement the EBT token system
at community farmers markets.
Wooden tokens are used for currency.
Customer swipes EBT card for tokens.
Vendor accepts tokens for food purchases.

 

 

How Does The System Work?

EBT Customer will decide ahead of time
how much money he or she would like to spend.
Custumers can swipe their cards to
purchase $1 tokens.Local Farmers Market
tokens have been designed
for your convenience. The tokens are
directly exchanged for produce between
the customer and farmer.
This token system allows for a simple
interactive way to purchase
fresh food at local farmers markets.
