Georgia's New Statewide EBT Farmers Market Program
The Georgia Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Farmers Market Program assists local communities in their effort to promote and market fresh fruits and vegetables. This project provides new EBT equipment and training needed to implement the EBT token system successfully. |
| The Project's goal is to install eight new EBT machines, support the sixteen existing EBT farmers markets and implement educational outreach programs at local community EBT farmers markets located throughout Georgia. The new EBT machines use a token system that makes it possible for low income or Suppliment Nutrition Assistance Program recipients to purchase fresh food near their homes. |
